Synthesis and Biological Activity of Some 2-Substituted Quinazolin-4-ones

Abstract: The nonclassical antifolates have been prepared by nucleophilic substitution of bromine in 2-bromomethyl-3H-quinazolin-4-one by nitrogen and oxygen nucleophiles. IR and ¹H  NMR spectra, ¹³C  NMR data of selected compounds, basic antibacterial and cytotoxic activities are presented.
