New derivatives of s-triazine group

Abstract: NH₄CN and phenylacetylcarbinol give, instead of the expected aminonitrile, 2,4,6-tris(α-methyl-α-amino-β-hydroxy-β-phenethyl)-1,3,5-triazine (I). HNO₂ cleaves I to BzH and 2,4,6-tris(α-hydroxyethyl)-1,3,5-triazine.
