Catalytic polymerization of acetylene by titanium(III) complexes

Abstract: Polyacetylene was obtained by contacting the gaseous acetylene at room temperature and atmospheric pressure with catalytic system containing various titanium(III) complexes and magnesium bis(cyclopentadienide) in aprotic coordinating solvents. The probable reaction mechanism of the catalytic polymerization of acetylene is discussed.
