2-Alkylthio-6-benzoylaminobenzothiazoles

Abstract: 2-Alkylthio-6-benzoylaminobenzothiazoles have been synthesized by alkylation of 6-benzoylamino-2-benzothiazolinethione and benzoylation of 2-alkylthio-6-aminobenzothiazole, respectively. The compounds exhibited antimycobacterial, anthelmintic, and antifungal activities. Especially noticeable was the high antimycobačterial activity against atypical tuberculous mycobacteria in connection with low acute toxicity.
