The Photocatalytic Degradation of Cyclic Acetals in Aqueous Titanium Dioxide Suspension

Abstract: The photocatalytic oxidation of 2-ethoxytetrahydropyran in aqueous titanium dioxide suspension in the presence of oxygen was studied. On the basis of quantum-chemical calculations, IR, FTIR, and UV-VIS spectroscopy and GC-MS analysis the reaction mechanism was proposed.
