The determination of sulfuric acid in technical pure lactic acid

Abstract: A rapid indirect polarographic method is described for the detn. of H₂SO₄ in tech. pure lactic acid. In place of alc., acetone was used to decrease the soly. of sulfates, so that they are sepd. quantitatively as a cryst. easily filterable ppt. The max. error was 1.2-0.4 mg./100 ml. It is mostly dependent on the amt. of pipeted filtrate after the sepn. of sulfates.
