Spectrographic determination of rhodium in platinum-rhodium alloys without using a standard

Abstract: Alloys are sampled directly by a high-voltage, condensed, a.-c. spark. The spectra are photographed and the transmittance of the Rh 2461.04; 2458.90; 2455.71; 2456.18; 2466.-15-A. lines are measured together with the Pt 2450.97-A. line as the internal standard. The method can be used over the concn. range 2.75-37% Rh. The av. deviation of spectrographic results is ±7%; 0.1 mg. of sample is needed for 1 analysis.
