Radical polymerization of tetravinylsilane. II. Copolymerization of tetravinylsilane with methyl acrylate

Abstract: cf. CA 60, 4263a. The copolymerization of (CH₂:CH)₄Si with Me acrylate was described. The total rate of copolymerization is indirectly related to the concn. of the silane component. From the integrated form of the copolymerization equation and from an analysis of the copolymers, the copolymerization parameters (r₁ and r₂) of the pair (CH₂:CH)₄Si (1)-Me acrylate (2) was detd.: r₁ = 0.133 ± 0.006; r2 = 8.87 ± 0.07.
