Mechanism of action of the triethylenetetramine-ferrous sulfate system in grafting

Abstract: The formation of chelates of triethylenetetramine (I) with FeSO₄ was studied by potentiometric titrn. at 35° in the presence of an emulsifier. The results of the titrn. curves were applied under the same conditions in the study of grafting of oxidized polypropylene with styrene. At the point where the molar ratio of I to FeSO₄ is 3:2, there is max. formation of total and grafted polymers.
