Synthesis of esters of trans-2,2-dichloro-3-phenylcyclopropanecarboxylic acid and (+)-trans-chrysanthemic acid

Abstract: Seven new pyrethroides, esters of trans-2,2-dichloro-3-phenylcyclopropane carboxylic acid and (+)-trans-chrysanthemic acid with some easily available compounds containing hydroxyl group in the molecule were prepared. The insecticide activity of the substances thus synthetised was determined on Musca domestica by tropical method and on Calandra granaria by Petri-dish method. All substances subjected to testing revealed an unsignificant insecticide activity only.
