Polysaccharides of wood-destroying fungi Polyporus squamosus and Phellinus igniarius

Abstract: Extraction of the fruit bodies of Polyporus squamosus and Phellinus igniarius with water gave a mixture of polysaccharides, fractionation of which afforded a fucomannogalactan and a glucan. Their structural features were established by hydrolysis, methylation analysis and periodate oxidation.
