Preparation of synthetic montmorillonite

Abstract:  This paper presents the hydrothermal preparation of synthetic montmorillonite under increased pressure. The process started from the quaternary system SiO₂ —AI₂O₃ —MgO —CaO. The samples prepared were identified by x-ray diffraction, infrared absorption spectroscopy, and DTA method.
