Preparation and properties of reaction products of glutaric acid with hydroxylamine

Abstract: The preparation of N-hydroxyglutaramic acid, iV-hydroxyglutarimide and glutarodihydroxamic acid is described. The u.v. and i.r. spectra as well as the dissociation constants of the prepared substances are presented. The cyclization of glutarodihydroxamic acid in solution to form N-hydroxyglutarimide has been confirmed.
