Conductimetric determination of tungstate

Abstract: Cd salts are good precipitants for gravimetric and conductimetric detns. of WO₄^2-. Conductimetric titration requires well controlled conditions: pH 6.8 to 7.0, Cd salts of slight hydrolysis (CdSO4 found most suitable), absence of NH₄⁺, presence of WO₄^2- in some form other than the Na salt (such as Li, K, Rb, and Cs), and good stirring. The titration is carried out either at room temp. in an aq. EtOH soln. or in aq. soln. at 40°.
