The determination of total phospholipides

Abstract: A crit. review of methods to det. the total phospholipides (I) in tissues is given. The method by Fiske and SubbaRow (C.A. 20,1092), modified by Stewart and Hendry (C.A. 29, 7360.1), is the best for the detn. of total I. To det. salts of H3PO4 the best method is by Taussky and Shorr (C.A. 47, 9399b). By detg. I in hare roast as fatty acids, the results were 11% lower as compared with the method of P detn., which agrees with the findings of Artom and Fishman (C.A. 37, 4446.9).
