New distribution method according to O'Keeffe based on Craig's apparatus

Abstract: A fractional distribution method according to O'Keeffe, et al. (C.A. 44, 9635f) is described. The Metzsch modification (C.A. 47, 4140c) of the Craig automatic countercurrent distribution app. (C.A. 39, 13725) with 200 distribution vessels is used. The proposed method involves 2-sided withdrawal. For this process, the mixt. of substances is applied in soln. A conversion factor is given for the necessary increase of the no. of distribution vessels in the left part of the app. The values of the conversion factor for several distribution coeffs. and phase vol. ratios are tabulated.
