Amino acids in fermentation substrates. III. Metabolism of amino acids in fermentation by Streptomyces aureofaciens

Abstract: cf. CA 53, 16410b. The metabolism of the amino acids by S. aureofaciens under com. conditions was studied by qual. and quant. paper electrophoresis. It was detd. that there is a decrease in the amts. of basic amino acids and glutamic acid in the fermentation substrate in 15 hrs. In the following 5 hrs. there is a decrease in the aspartic and an increase in the glutamic acids. There is a slow decrease of neutral amino acids during the whole time of fermentation.
