Abstract: The polymerization capacity of the tetravinylsilane under the standard conditions was described quant. by studying the kinetics of radical polymerization process. In the area of low conversions up to 10%, a sol., unsatd. polymer is formed. Exptl. detd. relations of the total polymerization speed on the concn. of the monomer [M] and the initiator [I] are linear. Under the given exptl. conditions, the total polymerization speed can be expressed in this equation: -d[M]/dt = k[M] [I]. The total activation energy of the radical polymerization E = 29.4 kcal./mole, detd. by the Arrhenius equation, is approx. equal to activation energy of initiation.
