Gas chromatography of the fatty acids in dairy products without preliminary esterification

Abstract: A column filled with Celite 545 impregnated with 10.0% of poly(propyleneadipate) and 1.0% of H3PO4 was used. The optimum temp. in the column was 210° and the time of sepn. 35 min. This method was suitable for testing various types of aged cheeses and in testing samples contg. small amts. of fatty acids.
