Thermodynamic conditions of mechanochemical equilibrium [of polymers]

Abstract: By application of Tykodi's (CA 54, 16158c) method, thermodynamic conditions were derived for mechanochem. equil. of oriented samples of polymers in the form of fibers or films in the contact with a liquid or gaseous phase. The complex mechanism of the interaction of polymer with the external phase results in mech. effects. The potential of the outside sp. force field is primarily dependent on the physicochem. character of the corresponding components. The mechanochem. potential for each component in the conformation reagent has a const. value. The mechanochem. potential is a sum of the chem. potentials of the conformation reagents and the potentials of the outside heterogonous force field, which are equiv. to the partial mol. elastic free energy of the corresponding component.
