Gas-chromatographic estimation of chlorinated insecticide residues in milk fat after a one-step isolation procedure

Abstract:  A gas chromatographic method (electron capture detector) for the estimation of chlorinated insecticide residues in milk fat has been developed. This method demanding 0.3 g of weighed milk fat also involves a one-step isolation procedure (extraction and purification on column with 15 g of florisil). The accuracy of the method for p,p'-DDT, DDE and HCH has been assessed by standard deviation s = 0.022 — 0.098 cm2 and variation coefficient ranging from 5.4 to 15.3%. The yields for the mentionsd insecticides have been 81.0 — 91.8%. The conditions for the evaporation of solvent in the presence of these 3 insecticides have been examined and characterized.
