Abstract: The present work is the first part in a series of papers dealing with comprehensive analysis of the influence of the A.C. intermittent arc electrical parameters on the excitation of the emission atomic spectra of AI, Ca, Fe, Mg, and Si in magnesium oxide matrix. In this paper the evaporation process of some components of calcinated magnesite is followed by the evaporation correlation curves method. Co is used as a reference element. In the course of investigations, the number of pulses and the electrode polarity is changed.
