Abstract: 4-O-β-L-Arabinopyranosyl-L-arabinose and O-β-D-xylopyranosyl-(1 → 4)-O-β-L-arabinopyranosyl-(1 → 4)-L-arabinose were obtained by acid hydrolysis of the peach gum polysaccharide. The structures were detd. by hydrolysis of the methylated and reduced oligosaccharides. The mass spectrum of the methylated disaccharide and the specific optical rotation of the disaccharide showed the glycosidic link to be β-(1 → 4).
