Vibrational spectra of vanadium(V) compounds. II. Vibrational spectra of divanadates with nonlinear bridge VOV

Abstract:  The vibrational spectra of α-Zn2V2O7, Mg2V2O7, and Pb2V2O7 were measured and assigned. Difference between wavenumbers of stretching vibrations of bridge bonds decreases monotonously with the angle V-O-V. The value of the difference can be used in order to estimate the configuration of bridge in divanadates, M2V2O7.
