2-(2-Hydroxyphenyl)benzotriazoles. IV. Ionization constants

Abstract:  Ionization constants of some 2-(2-hydroxy-5-X-phenyl)benzotriazoles were measured by the ultraviolet spectrophotometric method. A linear cor­relation was found between the ionization constant values and σ_p constants of substituents X (ϱ= —2.6) and also between the wavenumber of the stretching vibration of the OH bond and the pK_a values (ϱ= +41.1).
