Determination of active substances in tablets by absorption of low-energy gamma radiation

Abstract: A method for the determination of the content of effective substances in pharmaceuticals, based on the absorption of a low-energy gamma radiation, has been developed for the determination of bromine content directly in individual tablets of the commercially produced drug Bromisoval tbl. The measurements were carried out in parallel coaxial geometry using a radionuclide source 109Cd with energies of 22.2 and 88 keV. The accuracy of the developed method was estimated by standard deviation and the results obtained were compared with the argentometric titration prescribed by technical norm.
