Thermal decomposition of potassium μ-oxo- and μ-hydroxo-bis(oxodiperoxovanadate)

Abstract: In the systematic study of slow decompn. of V(V) peroxo compds., the products of thermal reactions of K4[V2O3(O2)4].2H2O and K3[HV2O3(O2)4].H2O were studied under conditions which did not allow a rapid liberation of peroxidic O. The decompn. intermediates react with CO2 present in air and the final products of decompn. of both compds. are KVO3 and K3[VO(O2)2(CO3)].
