Isomerizations of C8-C12 cycloalkadienes catalyzed by titanocene derivatives

Abstract:  The interaction of Cp2TiH containing catalyst with C10 and C12 cycloal­kadienes yields Ai-cycloalken-l-ylbis(cyclopentadienyl)titanium(III) com­pounds (n= 2—6) but only the stable allyl compounds are characterized by e.s.r. and electronic absorption spectra. All of them cooperate in transforming the substrate by stepwise double bond shifts into the equilibrium mixture of isomers. The conjugated cycloalkadienes constituted minor components in C10 and C12 equilibrium mixtures while in C8 diene it was the only product.
