Percolation Model of Adsorption-Desorption Equilibria with Hysteresis

Abstract: The problem of equilibrium for adsorption-desorption of condensable vapours in porous media was studied experimentally and theoretically. Algorithms for random generation of square lattices of spherical pore sites and cylindrical pore connections as well as for adsorption and desorption in such networks were developed. Percolation properties of the model were discussed and the model predictions were compared to experimental data for the system Vycor glass-nitrogen.
